With over 100 colleges and universities in the Boston metro area, Boston is, perhaps, the best college town in the country. With the winding down of summer comes Boston’s brightest by the bus loads who are all ready to take the city by storm and enjoy every benefit Beantown has to offer, including its elusive nightlife scene. IM Boston has done its research to make sure post grads get to these dives before the lines of eager students start pouring down the sidewalks and for undergrads to get a heads up on what’s hot.

Popular with Harvard kids, this spot has karaoke, scorpion bowls and all the Chinese appetizers and plates your drunken stomach desires. They’re celebrating 60 years of serving Harvard Square with an anniversary event in August, so be sure to check out what kinds of specials they’ll be offering closer to the date.

Another Allston haunt serving up flocks of BU students during the school year, White Horse has plenty of draft beer options, a bar menu, pool tables and even an outdoor patio in the back. Most importantly, you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank due the lack of a cover charge at this college bar.

Representing Northeastern’s campus on this list, Conor Larkin’s, an Irish pub, attracts students and Bostonians alike for pitchers, game day seats, weekend brunch and $3 mimosas. That’s right, $3 mimosas. Does anything else matter?

As one of Boston College’s most famous nightspots, Mary Ann’s consistently has a line out the door and is apparently known to have some tough bouncers. But the beer is dirt-cheap and the place is beloved by its BC natives making it well worth the stop.
