October is breast cancer awareness month. Boston has a very special connection to this issue, making it a special month to our people. The Dana Farber Cancer Institute on Brookline Avenue has been one of the organizations at the forefront of the battle against cancer. Tremendous work for nearly 70 years has been done in the fight against breast cancer. Help is still needed from the people of Boston, more than ever before.
Making Strides is a tremendous organization, which has raised $460 million since 1993. Organizing many successful walks and fundraisers in New England helped them raise millions of dollars for the cause.
On October 29th, the Ellie Fund for Breast Cancer is hosting a Halloween party fundraiser at TICO Boston. The fundraiser is sponsored by the Slater Foundation and will absolutely be an awesome time. Get involved, this is one event you don’t want to miss.
Events are happening all over the city! Money is not the only objective in the purpose of these fundraisers. Donating your time and efforts is just as valuable as your your financial support. Educating others in breast cancer awareness month is a crucial part of the cause. There is still plenty of time to get involved or make a donation to any of these fine organizations. Together, we’re going to contribute to eradicating this terrible disease. People in Boston are always proactive in stepping up to help whenever possible.
