Tell us about Chrissy’s Crumble! How/why did you start it?
Chrissy’s Crumble Wicked Good No-Grain-Ola is made from whole ingredients.
It is Gluten-Free, Grain-Free, Refined-Sugar-Free, Dairy-Free and Vegan. I make every batch by hand, with nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and lots of love.
Chrissy’s Crumble was established 3 years ago, right in my kitchen outside of Boston, Massachusetts. What began as an experiment to satisfy my fiancé John’s craving for cereal he could eat while on a low carb/paleo diet, Chrissy’s Crumble became an addiction for us and our friends and family and turned into a business. Originally distributed as gifts, I’m am now taking it to the Internet!
Do you really make every batch by hand?? How long does it usually take to make?
Yes, I do make every batch by hand, it takes about 25-30 minutes to prepare, and about 1-1 ½ hours of baking and cooling time.
Which one of your granolas is your favorite?
That’s a tough question; my favorite has always been the FiggyNuts. I recently created three new flavors and two of those have quickly become favorites as well: Tropical Island and Peanut Banana Cacao Nibs.
Do you have any new flavors coming out soon?
Aside from the Tropical Island and Peanut Banana Cacao Nibs, the other newest flavor is Apple Raisin Crisp. I am working on something with Cranberries, Almond and Coconut so stay tuned!
How do you want your business to grow in the upcoming years?
I would like to see my product as a recognized brand and it would be fun to walk into a store and see my No-Grain-Ola on the shelf. I think there are many people who continue to look for unprocessed foods that are healthy for you and don’t contain sugar or gluten and are grain free and vegan.
What are some of your other hobbies outside of making awesome granola?
I love bike riding, spending time at the beach, entertaining friends and family, and of course cooking.
