Danielle Kempe started her blog to chronicle her own personal fitness journey. Read on to learn more about this Boston fitness blogger and her aspirations!
Where are you from? What brought you to Boston?
I’m originally from the North Shore (Peabody) but now I live on the South Shore (Quincy). I lived in Boston during college and a few years post graduation & loved it!
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Outgoing, Caring, Friendly
What inspires your fitness?
I like the social aspect of fitness, so seeing other friends pushing themselves at a November Project workout inspires me to push myself too.
What tips and tricks would you share with our readers trying to start a more active lifestyle?
Figure out what you like for fitness and add that to your schedule. Are you someone like me that likes working out with a buddy? Stop by a November Project workout or find a run club that works with your schedule? Adore spin? Figure out which studio/class works best for your schedule and sign up for a full month. Like dance based fitness? I highly recommend BollyX. Fitness doesn’t have to be a chore. It can (and should) be fun!
Tell us about your blog! How/why did you start it?
I started Getting Fit In MA to chronicle my own personal fitness journey. It was one more way to keep me accountable to making a change to get more fitness in my life. 2 years later, my friends joke that if I didn’t write a blog post about a workout, it didn’t happen.
What’s your favorite neighborhood of the city to exercise in?
I’m very spoiled in the summer that there are so many awesome outdoor, free workouts in the city. I recommend checking the Rose Kennedy Greenway Calendar to see which fitness events would work for you. Also, I’m a huge November Project Wednesday workout fan – the 6:30 AM group climbing stairs at Harvard Stadium.
