Though September means the end of summer, there is still plenty to look forward to! Boston in the fall is one of the greatest places to be. Check out these events around the city that will get you out and forgetting about the back to school blues.

September 2-5: campfire. festival

Club Passim, 47 Palmer Street, Cambridge

Much like it sounds, this event was inspired by musicians sitting around a campfire playing songs for all the enjoy. Come out for some great local talent and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

September 7-11: Boston Comedy Arts Festival

40 Prospect Street, Cambridge

Presented by ImprovBoston, this year’s line-up includes over 300 acts from Chicago, New York City, Florida and more.

September 9-10: An Evening With Champions

Bright-Landry Hockey Center at Harvard

The 46th Annual Evening with Champions is a world-class figure skating exhibition that raises money for the Jimmy Fund to fight cancer.

September 10: Boston Beerathon

Tour the city by trekking through 26 fantastic local bars with live music. Clear your Saturday and check in between 12-3 at one of four locations.

September 15: Taste of Jamaica Plain

Franklin Park Zoo

The 21st Annual Taste of Jamaica Plain Fundraiser event, hosted by ESAC (Ensuring Stability Through Action in our Community) will feature food from several local restaurants, live music and a silent auction.

September 16-18: GreekFest

514 Parker Road

Come out for a free day of Greek pastries, cooking, music and folk dancing at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

September 17: South Boston Street Festival

East Broadway Street, between I and L

This yearly event is always a huge hit, with live entertainment on two stages and over 100 local merchants, artists, organizations and food vendors.

September 18: Brunch Bar 2016

WGBH Television and Recording studio lot

One of WGBH’s most popular events of the year (so be sure to get tickets before it sells out), this brunch bar will feature tasting stations from over 30 of New England’s best chefs, beverage tastings, live cooking demos and more.

September 24: What the Fluff? Festival

Union Square, Somerville

Did you know fluff was invented in Somerville in 1917? Celebrate the creation of the deliciously sweet spread with games like Fluff Jousting and Fluff Musical Chairs.

September 30- October 1: Harpoon Octoberfest

306 Northern Avenue

Join Harpoon for their annual Octoberfest and enjoy beer, bratwursts, chicken dancing and more.
