We’re excited to see “Manchester By The Sea” when it opens in theaters on November 18th. The film stars local actor Casey Affleck, who plays a Boston janitor who must reassess his life and values. Tragic events occur and he finds himself the sole guardian of his teenage nephew after the untimely passing of his brother.
Together, they return to Manchester By The Sea, where their family has worked for generations. Casey’s character attempts to deal with the local community and the his own tumultuous past. Directed by Kenneth Lonergan, the film garnered a lot of attention at the Sundance Film Festival. Critic Kate Muir of Time Magazine called it “perhaps the most emotionally intelligent film you will see this year”. Justin Chang of Variety said it’s “[a] beautifully textured, richly enveloping drama about how a death in the family forces a small-town New Englander to confront a past tragedy anew”. Filmed by Massachusetts native Matt Damon, we couldn’t be more excited to catch it on opening day.
We are looking forward to seeing the beautiful places of Manchester MA that will be very apparent throughout the movie.
