“Manchester by The Sea” Has Been Getting Great Reviews

We’re excited to see “Manchester By The Sea” when it opens in theaters on November 18th. The film stars local Casey Affleck, who plays a Boston janitor who must reassess his life and values when he finds himself the sole guardian of his teenage nephew after the untimely passing of his brother.

Together, they return to Manchester By The Sea, where their family has worked for generations, and attempt to deal with the local community and the janitor’s own tumultuous past. The film is directed by Kenneth Lonergan and it garnered a lot of attention at the Sundance Film Festival, where critic Kate Muir of Time Magazine called it “perhaps the most emotionally intelligent film you will see this year”. Justin Chang of Variety said it’s “[a] beautifully textured, richly enveloping drama about how a death in the family forces a small-town New Englander to confront a past tragedy anew”. The film was also produced by Matt Damon and we couldn’t be more excited to catch it on opening day.
